Plan a rewire around your renovation with an assessed installation, agreed room layouts and coordination before plastering and decoration.

For an assessment or quotation, see our house rewiring in Essex. The service page explains how to discuss the work for your property.

Assess the existing installation first

A renovation is a useful time to review the electrics, but it does not automatically mean the whole property needs rewiring. Share any existing report and discuss the condition of the circuits, the proposed layout and the work needed to support it.

Decide the layout before first-fix work

Mark sockets, lighting, switches and fixed appliances on the plans. Think about furniture, desk positions and future equipment. Late changes can affect cable routes and finished surfaces, so confirm the main decisions before the installation stage begins.

Coordinate with other trades

Agree when the electrician needs access before plastering, flooring, kitchen fitting and decoration. Identify responsibility for opening and reinstating surfaces. If the house is occupied, discuss how interruptions and work areas will be managed.

Check the scope and handover

A useful quote describes the agreed circuits, fittings, testing, documentation and exclusions. Ask how design changes or existing defects will be handled. Keep the completed electrical records with the renovation paperwork.

Prepare your project enquiry

Send your postcode, drawings, photographs, proposed schedule and any inspection report. Tell us whether the project is a single room, an extension or a whole-house refurbishment so we can discuss the appropriate assessment.
