See Essex Home Electricians' call-out charges, what to confirm before booking and how additional investigation or repairs are agreed.

For an assessment or quotation, see our emergency electrical help. The service page explains how to discuss the work for your property.

Our current call-out charges

Our normal weekday call-out charge is £100 plus VAT (£120 including VAT). After 5pm and at weekends, the call-out charge is £150 plus VAT (£180 including VAT). Confirm the applicable charge and availability when booking.

Agree what the visit covers

A call-out charge should not be assumed to include every repair, replacement part or an unlimited period of investigation. We will discuss the arrangements before the visit. Any additional work and charges need to be agreed separately once the problem and proposed remedy are understood.

Why the final repair price may need an investigation

A repeated trip or loss of power can have several possible causes. The electrician may need to investigate before a repair can be priced. Describe the symptoms and affected areas when you call; an accurate description is more useful than guessing which component must be replaced.

Information to have ready

Give your postcode, a contact number and a clear description of the issue. Tell us about access restrictions, vulnerable occupants or equipment affected by the interruption. We will confirm current attendance availability and an estimated time; the website does not promise a fixed one-hour response.

If there is immediate danger

Do not touch exposed wiring or damaged equipment. If there is smoke or fire, leave the property and call 999. For an electrical fault without an immediate fire emergency, contact our team to discuss the appropriate next step.
